Academy Pre-School was founded in 1981 by Gerry Kramer. Our Director is Kathy Runey, who is a certified Pre-School Director by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) and has extensive experience directing pre-school programs. She is also a state-certified early childhood training consultant and leads workshops on diverse topics for other teachers.
Our other teachers are DEEC certified, professional, and experienced early childhood educators who receiving ongoing training and supervision. All of our staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid.

Our teachers work with the children individually and in small groups presenting a variety of activities and experiences designed to help each child reach his/her fullest potential at their own rate of development. A school calendar is sent home each month to keep parents informed of the themes and topics we are discussing. Included in our program are activities designed to encourage and enhance the following areas of child development:

Reading and math readiness programs, recognition of shapes, colors, and directions, nature exploration, arts and crafts projects, basic science experiments, and integrated themes.
